The BCC is delighted to announce that Saskia Perriard has been appointed as the BCC’s new Director of Policy and Public Affairs.
Saskia brings a wealth of experience, working most recently as Head of Policy and Campaigns at the National Literacy Trust. Saskia has extensive experience of representing member views and leveraging their expertise to make recommendations to policymakers as well as engaging with government.
BCC chairman, Trevor Cook, said: “We are delighted to have secured the services of Saskia in the critical role of Director of Policy and Public Affairs. Copyright is helping creators get back on their feet in the wake of the Pandemic and negotiations surrounding the Intellectual Property Chapters of the ongoing free trade agreements mean it is important that the copyright community has a strong voice. Saskia brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the BCC, most recently in literature, which is one of the creative industries represented amongst our membership. We shall be pleased to have her to the BCC from September 1 2021.”
Saskia said “I am delighted to be joining the British Copyright Council at this pivotal juncture as Parliament returns fully this autumn. The creative industries have long been a crucial part of the UK’s culture and I very much look forward to working closely with members to ensure that importance and value of copyright is fully understood and leveraged by policymakers.”
