The Musicians’ Union (MU), the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors (BASCA) and UK Music have launched an application for Judicial Review of the Government’s introduction of a private copying exception without providing fair compensation for rights holders in the creative sector. The BCC and its members have opposed the introduction of a private copying exception without fair compensation for rights holders since it was first proposed and throughout the passage of legislation through Parliament. The BCC welcomes this action by the MU, BASCA and UK Music.
