The Labour Party has (July 5) won the General Election and has been invited by The King to form the next UK Government.  Responding, Stephanie Reeves, Director of Policy and Public Affairs, British Copyright Council says:

“We welcome the new government and look forward to working together to support the UK creative industries as a vital and world leading part of the UK economy.

We hope that government actions will uphold the UK’s strong recognition and protection of copyright and the copyright licensing systems which promote true economic growth.

This will secure jobs and enable innovation as well as protecting freedom of expression which lies at the heart of the sector.”
