The BCCs analysis of “Modernising Copyright”, was presented to officials from the IPO at the Joint Consultative Meeting on 14th March 2013. The paper was prepared for the BCC by its Working Group on Copyright and Technology and it is still a work in progress.
Since meeting with the BCC, IPO published its research reports on “Evaluating the impact of parody on the exploitation: Report 1”, “The Treatment of Parodies Under Copyright Law in Seven Jurisdictions: Report 2”, “Copyright and the Economic Effects of Parody: Report 3” and its report on “Private Copying”. The BCCs Working Group on Copyright and Technology will incorporate comments on these reports into the analysis when it meets in late April.
