Recognising the increasing importance of European and International developments in copyright, the BCC is pleased to announce the appointment of Florian Koempel as its International Copyright Consultant. Florian will monitor and review developments and will assist in the preparation of BCC policy submissions. He will also be consulted on relevant UK developments and make regular reports to the Council. Florian continues to participate in the BCCs Working Group on Copyright and Technology as an individual expert.
Florian is well known in the copyright community. He has been Legal Counsel for British Music Rights and UK Music working on national, European and International Copyright issues for over 11 years, also representing the BCC at WIPO and at the European Commission during that time.
Florian finished his legal studies with distinction in Regensburg in 1996 and passed his bar exam in Munich 1999. In 2000 he finished the LLM (London) with a focus on Intellectual Property and in 2005 he obtained a Diploma on European Competition law. Florian can be reached at [email protected].
